The LA Lakers named Rudy Tomjanovich as head coach.

Former NBA player Rudy LaRusso died at age 66.  He played for 10 seasons
from 59-60 - 68-69, including 8 season with the Lakers and averaged 15.6
points and 9.4 rebounds.
