The NBA suspended Gilbert Arenas (Was) for 1 game.  He will miss the first
game of the regular season.  Arenas recently pleaded no contest to 
misdemeanor weapons and vehicle charges for possessing a concealed weapon 
and driving without a license in 2003.

Miami signed 2nd round draft pick (#53) Matt Freije.

New York signed Jamison Brewer to a 1 year, minimum contract.

Boston signed 2nd round draft pick (#40) Justin Reed.

New Jersey named Bill Cartwright as an assistant coach.
