News from December 1.

The NBA named Elton Brand (LAC) and LeBron James (Cle) as Players of the
Month for November.  Brand averaged 23.7 points and 10.7 rebounds as the
Clippers went 10-4.  James averaged 28.4 points and 6 rebounds as
Cleveland went 10-4.

The NBA named Avery Johnson (Dal) and Flip Saunders as Coaches of the 
Month for November.  Dallas went 10-4 and Detroit went 11-2.

The NBA named Chris Paul (NO) and Channing Frye (NY) as Rookies of the
Month for November.  Paul averaged 16.4 points and 6.8 assists as New
Orleans went 7-7.  Frye averaged 14.2 points and 6.1 rebounds as New York
went 5-9.

Denver suspended Voshon Lenard for 1 game for conduct detrimental to the
team.

Brian Grant (Pho) is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his
right knee and is expected to be out 3 months.

San Antonio activated Sean Marks and placed Manu Ginobili on IL with an
injured right foot.

Utah activated Gordan Giricek and placed Robert Whaley on IL.
