Phil Jackson (LAL) underwent right hip replacement surgery.  Assistant
coach Kurt Rambis is running the Lakers' training camp in Jackson's
absence.

Portland signed Ime Udoka.

Sacramento signed Maurice Taylor.

Older news: Portland signed 1st round draft pick (#27) Sergio Rodriguez 
to a 2 year, $1,892,400 contract with 2 more years worth $2,940,835 at 
the team's option (way back on July 20).  [As far as I can tell, 
Oleksiy Pecherov (#18, Was) and Joel Freeland (#30, Por) are the only 
1st round draft picks that remain unsigned.]
