News from January 28.

The NBA named Al Jefferson (Min) and Hedo Turkoglu (Orl) as Players of the
Week for the week ending January 27.  Jefferson averaged 28.8 points and
12.8 rebounds as Minnesota went 3-1.  Turkoglu averaged 25.5 points as
Orlando went 3-1.

Memphis released Damon Stoudamire after the two reached a buyout
agreement.

Minnesota assigned Chris Richard to the NBADL.

San Antonio recalled Ian Mahinmi from the NBADL.

Dallas activated Maurice Ager and placed Devin Harris on IL.  Harris is
expected to be out 2 to 3 weeks with a bone bruise in his left ankle.

Memphis activated Pau Gasol and Stromile Swift and placed Mike Conley on
IL with a chest contusion.
