In a sign-and-trade, Seattle re-signed Rashard Lewis to a 6 year, maximum contract ($118.2 million) and traded him to Orlando for a conditional 2nd round draft pick (by doing the trade, Seattle also received a $9 million trade exception). TRADE: Phoenix traded James Jones and the rights to 1st round draft pick (#24) Rudy Fernandez to Portland for $3 million. [The trade was reported on draft day without Jones mentioned, but apparently was not official and needed to wait until the July Moratorium ended so that Jones could be included.] Charlotte re-signed Gerald Wallace to a 6 year, $57 million contract. Detroit re-signed Chauncey Billups to a 5 year, $60 million contract. The 5th year is at the team's option. Phoenix signed Grant Hill to a 2 year, $3.8 million contract with the 2nd year at the player's option. Hill had played for Orlando last season. Phoenix re-signed Sean Marks. Toronto signed Jason Kapono to a 4 year, $24 million contract. Kapono had played for Miami last season. Toronto signed restricted free agent Maceo Baston to a 2 year, about $4 million offer sheet. Indiana has 7 days to match the offer to keep Baston. Memphis reached a 3 year, about $19 million contract agreement with Orlando free agent Darko Milicic. The contract is expected to be signed in the next few days.
