News from January 21.

All-Star starters were announced, as selected by fan voting.  For the
Western Conference, Carmelo Anthony (Den), Tim Duncan (SA), Amare
Stoudemire (Pho), Kobe Bryant (LAL), and Steve Nash (Pho) will start.  For
the Eastern Conference, LeBron James (Cle), Kevin Garnett (Bos), Dwight
Howard (Orl), Dwyane Wade (Mia), and Allen Iverson (Phi) will start.  The
All-Star game will take place February 14 in Dallas.  [Top 10 voting

The NBA fined Glen Davis (Bos) $25,000 for making inappropriate comments
to a fan during Wednesday's Bos-Det game.

D.J. White (OKC) underwent surgery on his fractured right thumb and is
expected to be out 6 to 8 weeks.

Cleveland placed Maurice Williams on IL.  Williams is expected to be out
at least a month with a sprained left shoulder.

The LA Clippers activated Brian Skinner and placed Sebastian Telfair
(strained hamstring) on IL.

LeBron James (Cle) had 37 points including 10-13 FT, 5 rebounds, and 9
assists.
J.J. Hickson (Cle) had 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Shaquille O'Neal (Cle) had 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Pau Gasol (LAL) had 13 points including 5-14 FG and 8 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant (LAL) had 31 points.

Den 105, LAC 85  at Den
Carmelo Anthony (Den) had 28 points including 12-16 FT and 10 rebounds.
Chauncey Billups (Den) had 20 points including 4-6 3-pointers and 6
assists.
Kenyon Martin (Den) had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Chris Kaman (LAC) had 18 points and 5 rebounds.
Craig Smith (LAC) had 21 points including 9-14 FG and 6 rebounds.
Den shot 47.9% (34-71) FG and LAC shot 37.8% (34-90) FG.
Eric Gordon (LAC, sprained left big toe) did not play.
