The nominees are: Players Maurice Cheeks played 15 seasons including 11 with Philadelphia, won 1983 NBA Championship, 4 time All-NBA Defense First Team Bernard King played 14 seasons in NBA including 4 with New York Knicks and 4 with Washington Bullets, lead NBA in scoring in 84-85 with 32.9 points Katrina McClain won USA Olympic Gold Medals 1988 and 1996, USA Female Athlete of the Year in 1988 and 1992, 1987 WBCA National Player of the Year at Georgia Reggie Miller Played 17 years with Indiana, scored 25,279 points, won 1996 Olympic Gold Medal Ralph Sampson acclaimed college player for Virginia, 1984 NBA Rookie of the Year, played 9 seasons in NBA Jamaal Wilkes won NCAA Championships in 1972 and 1973, played 12 seasons in NBA including 8 with the Lakers, won NBA Championships in 1975, 1980, 1982, and 1985 Coaches Bill Fitch won 1981 NBA Championship with Boston, NBA Coach of the Year in 1976 and 1980, coach in NBA for 25 seasons Dick Motta won 1978 NBA Championship with Washington, NBA Coach of the Year in 1971, 24 years as head coach in NBA with Chicago, Washington, Dallas, and Sacramento Don Nelson 31 years coaching in NBA with Milwaukee, Golden State, New York, and Dallas, over 1,300 coaching wins - 2nd most in NBA history, 3 time NBA Coach of Year Rick Pitino coach 1996 NCAA Championship with Kentucky, won over 600 college games Teams All American Red Heads first women's professional basketball team, played 1936 to 1986 Referee Hank Nichols officiated 6 NCAA national championship games and in 10 Final Four games, officiated 2 Olympic games, national coordinator for officials for the NCAA 1986-2008 A nominee needs at least 18 of 24 votes from the Honors Committee to be inducted. In addition, the American Basketball Association Committee selected Mel Daniels, the Early African-American Pioneers of the Game Committee selected Don Barksdale, the International Committee selected Lidia Alexeeva, the Veterans Committee selected Chet Walker, and the Contributors Direct Election Committee selected Phil Knight - those people are directly inducted (no further voting need). The announcement for the new inductees will occur during the Final Four in April. In the Rookie-Sophomore game (in a change, each team was a mixture of rookies and sophomores), Team Chuck defeated Team Shaq 146-133 in Orlando. The game consisted of 2 20-minute halves.
