TRADE: After Maurice Williams first elected not to opt-out of his contract and, thus, remained signed for 12-13, a 4-team trade occurred where the LA Clippers traded away Maurice Williams and the rights to 2012 draft pick (#53) Furkan Aldemir and received Lamar Odom; Utah traded away the rights to 2008 draft pick (#53) Tadija Dragicevic and received Maurice Williams and the rights to 2008 draft pick (#51) Shan Foster; Dallas traded away Lamar Odom and the rights to 2008 draft pick (#51) Shan Foster and received the rights to 2008 draft pick (#53) Tadija Dragicevic cash (and a $8.9 million trade exemption); and Houston traded away cash and received the rights to 2012 draft pick (#53) Furkan Aldemir. Charlotte made qualifying offers to D.J. Augustin and Derrick Brown, making them restricted free agents. Cleveland made a qualifying offers to Alonzo Gee and Luke Harangody, making them restricted free agents. The LA Lakers made qualifying offers to Devin Ebanks and Darius Morris, making them restricted free agents. Memphis made qualifying offers to Marreese Speights and Darrell Arthur, making them restricted free agents. Utah made a qualifying offer to Jeremy Evans, making him a restricted free agent. Utah exercised the 12-13 option for Jamaal Tinsley. The free agency period starts tomorrow (Sunday, technically at 11 pm CT tonight). All 11-12 contracts formally expire.
