Charlotte withdrew the qualifying offer for D.J. Augustin, making him an unrestricted free agent. Dallas used the amnesty clause on Brendan Haywood and released him. Detroit signed 2nd round draft pick (#44) Kim English. The LA Clippers re-signed Chauncey Billups to a 1 year, $4.3 million contract. Milwaukee re-signed Ersan Ilyasova to a 5 year, $45 million contract. Minnesota used the amnesty clause on Darko Milicic and released him. New York signed Dallas free agent Jason Kidd to a 3 year, $9 million contract. New York re-signed Steve Novak to a 4 year, $15 million contract. Portland signed 2006 1st round draft pick (#30) Joel Freeman to a 2 year, $2,118,480 contract with 2 more years worth $3,293,294 at the team's option. San Antonio re-signed Boris Diaw to a 2 year, $9.2 million contract. Washington re-signed Cartier Martin to a 1 year, minimum contract. Blake Griffin (LAC) suffered an meniscus tear in his left knee during an Olympic practice. He is expected to undergo arthroscopic surgery and will be out 8 weeks (missing the Olympics).
