News from February 2.

The NBA named Kevin Durant (OKC), DeMar DeRozan (Tor), and Kyle Lowry
(Tor) as Players of the Month for January.  Durant averaged 28.5 points
and 9.3 rebounds as Oklahoma City went 13-3.  DeRozan averaged 23.9 points
and Lowry averaged 21.7 points and 6.7 assists as Toronto went 12-2.

The NBA named Karl-Anthony Towns (Min) and Kristaps Porzingis (NY) as
Rookie of the Month for January.  Towns averaged 16.9 points and 10.9
rebounds as Minnesota went 2-14.  Porzingis averaged 15.3 points and 7.2
rebounds as New York went 8-9.

The NBA suspended Dwight Howard (Hou) for 1 game for striking the arm of a
ref during Saturday's Hou-Was game.

The NBA fined J.B. Bickerstaff (Hou coach) $10,000 for criticizing the
refs following Saturday's Hou-Was game.

The LA Clippers signed Jeff Ayers to a 2nd 10-day contract.

T.J. Warren (Pho) is out for the season with a broken right foot.

Toronto placed James Johnson on IL.

Minnesota activated Adreian Payne and placed Nikola Pekovic (sore right
foot) on IL.

The LA Lakers activated Kobe Bryant and Tarik Black and placed Larry Nance
(sore right knee) and Metta World Peace on IL.

Isaiah Thomas (Bos) had 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Evan Turner (Bos) had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Tyler Zeller (Bos) had 16 points and 10 rebounds including 7 offensive.
Carmelo Anthony (NY) had 16 points on 4-16 FG and 7-10 FT and 14 rebounds.
Arron Afflalo (NY) had 18 points.
