News from April 18. The NBA held the tiebreakers (random drawing) for the 12 teams that finished with the same record to determine the draft order and lottery chances. Minnesota (31-51) won the tiebreaker with New York. Each will have 53 lottery chances. If both do not win the lottery (#1, #2, #3 draft picks), Minnesota will draft before New York (and the order will be reversed in the 2nd round). Portland (41-41) won the tiebreaker vs Chicago and, thus, Portland will draft #15 and Chicago will draft #16. Milwaukee (42-40) won the tiebreaker vs Indiana and, thus, Milwaukee will draft #17 and Indiana will draft #17. Atlanta (43-39) won the tiebreaker vs Memphis and, thus, Atlanta will draft #19 and Portland (who owns the Memphis pick) will draft #20. The LA Clippers (51-31) on the tiebreaker and then Utah won the tiebreaker, and then Toronto won the tiebreaker vs Cleveland and, thus, Toronto (who owns the LA Clippers) will draft #23, Utah will draft #24, Orlando (who owns Toronto's pick) will draft #25, Portland (who owns Cleveland's pick) will draft #26. The lottery drawing will take placed May 16 and the draft is June 22. 2017 Draft Lottery Chances and Order Lottery Chances Team Chances (out of 1,000) Boston 250 [from Boston] Phoenix 199 LA Lakers 156 [may go to Philadelphia via Phoenix] Philadelphia 119 [may go to Sacramento] Orlando 88 Minnesota 53 New York 53 Sacramento 28 [may go to Chicago via Cleveland or to Philadelphia] Dallas 17 New Orleans 11 [may go to Sacramento] Charlotte 8 Detroit 7 Denver 6 Miami 5 First Round Order 15 Portland 16 Chicago 17 Milwaukee 18 Indiana 19 Atlanta 20 Portland [from Memphis via Denver and Cleveland] 21 Oklahoma City 22 Brooklyn [from Washington] 23 Toronto [from LA Clippers via Milwaukee] 24 Utah 25 Orlando [from Toronto] 26 Portland [from Cleveland] 27 Brooklyn [from Boston] 28 LA Lakers [from Houston] 29 San Antonio 30 Utah [from Golden State] Second Round Order 31 Atlanta [from Brooklyn] 32 Phoenix 33 LA Lakers [may go to Orlando] 34 Sacramento [from Philadelphia via New Orleans] 35 Orlando 36/37 Philadelphia [from New York via Utah and Toronto] 37/36 Boston [from Minnesota via Phoenix] 38 Sacramento [may go to Chicago via Cleveland] 39 Philadelphia [from Dallas] 40 New Orleans 41 Charlotte 42 Utah [from Detroit] 43 Houston [from Denver] 44 New York [from Chicago] 45 Houston [from Portland] 46 Philadelphia [from Miami via Atlanta] 47 Indiana 48 Milwaukee 49 Denver [from Memphis via Oklahoma City] 50 Philadelphia [from Atlanta] 51 Denver [from Oklahoma City] 52 Washington 53 Boston [from Cleveland] 54 Phoenix [from Toronto] 55 Utah 56 Boston [from LA Clippers] 57 Brooklyn [from Boston] 58 New York [from Houston] 59 San Antonio 60 Atlanta [from Golden State via Philadelphia and Utah] Utah activated Joel Bolomboy and Raul Neto and placed Alec Burks and Rudy Gobert (left knee injury) on IL.
