Bill Curley (Por) underwent ankle surgery Wednesday to remove bone chips
from his left ankle.  He will be out 6 to 8 weeks.  (Thanks to Mike

Portland signed Dontonio Wingfield Friday to a 1 year contract worth the
league minimum $225,000 with an option for a second year.  Wingfield had
been released by Toronto on Tuesday.  (Thanks to Mike Northam)

James Robinson (Por) broke his right hand during training camp and will be
out 2 to 4 weeks.

Washington and restricted free agent Chris Webber have agreed to terms on 
a new multi-year contract.  The contract is scheduled to be signed this
(Monday) afternoon.

Washington also agreed to terms with free agent Don MacLean.
