News from March 24.

The NBA named Karl Malone (Uta) as Player of the Week.  Malone averaged
31.0 point including 50-70 FG, 8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists as Utah went 
4-0.
 
Orlando placed David Vaughn on IR with tendinitis in his right quadricep
tendon and activated Amal McCaskill.

Tony Dumas (Pho) will be out for the rest of the season after undergoing
arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to remove loose cartilage.

Victor Page (Georgetown, sophomore, G) declared himself eligible for the
NBA draft.  Page joined Adonal Foyle (Colgate, junior, C), Troy Hudson
(Southern Illinois, junior, G), Damon Jones (Houston, junior, G), Ron
Mercer (Kentucky, sophomore, G-F), Tracy McGrady (Mount Zion Christian
Academy High School, F), and Olivier Saint-Jean (San Jose State, junior,
F) as underclassmen who have declared.

Eddie Jones (LAL) had 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Nick Van Exel (LAL) had 23 points and 8 assists.
Travis Knight (LAL) had 18 points including 8-12 FG, 14 rebounds, and 4
blocks.
Kendall Gill (NJ) had 15 points including 5-15 FG and 7 rebounds.
Kerry Kittles (NJ) had 17 points on 8-23 FG and 5 rebounds.
LAL shot 47.7% (41-86) FG and NJ shot 33.3% (34-102) FG.
Chris Gatling (NJ, ear infection) did not play.
