Shaquille O'Neal (LAL) was diagnosed Monday with a hairline fracture in 
his right wrist.  O'Neal, who has missed the last 17 games due to a 
strained abdominal muscle, will be out another 2 weeks.  The fracture
actually occurred two weeks ago from punching a heavy bag.
 
Orlando signed Donald Royal and released Carl Thomas.

Sacramento signed Mark Hendrickson.

Minnesota activated Micheal Williams and placed DeJuan Wheat on IR.

Basketball Hall of Famer Les Harrison died at age 93.  Harrison had a
record of 295-181 as coach of the Rochester Royals from 1948-49 - 1954-55
including winning the NBA championship in 1951 and is ranked 7th all-time
in NBA coaching winning percentage (62%).

Popeye Jones (Tor) underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL on Sunday.
His rehabilitation will take 6 to 8 months.  [thanks to Jeff Joseph]
