TRADE: Chicago traded Jason Caffey to Golden State for David Vaughn, a 2nd
round draft pick in 1998, and a 2nd round draft pick in 2000.

TRADE: Miami traded Isaac Austin, Charles Smith, and a 1998 1st round
draft pick to the LA Clippers for Brent Barry.

TRADE: Orlando traded Rony Seikaly and Brian Evans to New Jersey for David
Benoit, Kevin Edwards, Yinka Dare, and a 1998 1st round draft pick
(lottery protected).  As part of the trade New Jersey waived the option to
void the trade if Seikaly did not report within 48 hours.

TRADE: New York traded Herb Williams and Ronnie Grandison to Philadelphia
for Terry Cummings.

The LA Clippers placed James Collins on IR with a lower back strain.

Orlando placed Mark Price on IR with ligament damage in his left thumb 
and activated Jason Lawson.

Philadelphia placed Anthony Parker on IR with a sprained right MCL.

Washington signed Lawrence Moten to a 2nd 10-day contract.

Detroit placed Grant Long on IR with a fractured right foot.
