News from February 26. International Screening Committee submitted Aleksandar Nikolic and Ubiratan Pereira Maciel for nomination for induction to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Nikolic compiled a 101-39 record as coach of the Yugoslavian National Team and had a record of 357-200 at the club level in Europe. Pereira Maciel was a member of the Brazilian National Team from 1962 to 1979 and played in the Italian and Brazilian Leagues from 1960 to 1984. The Hall of Fame nominees must receive 18 of 24 votes from the Honors Committee to be inducted. The announcement for the new inductees will occur June 29.
