News from June 30.
 
Philadelphia exercised their buyout clause on Derrick Coleman's contract.
The team will pay Coleman $5.6 million to terminate the contract, which
had 1 year, $13.1 million remaining.  Thus, Coleman is a free agent.  The
team has not yet renounced their rights to Coleman and can possibly 
re-sign him to a smaller contract.
 
Brian Grant (Por) underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder to
repair damaged cartilage.
 
Orlando released Mark Price.

Boston exercised the team option year for Bruce Bowen.

Boston decided not to exercise their team option year for Tyus Edney.
Edney is, thus, a free agent.

Seattle decided not to exercise their team option year for Dale Ellis.
Ellis is, thus, a free agent.

The owners of the New Jersey Nets have reached an agreement with a group
of businessmen headed by Finn Wentworth, Stanley Gale, and Raymond
Chambers to sell the teams.  The deal still needs to be finalized and then
has to be approved by the NBA Board of Governors.

The NBA lockout is in place.  There can be no trades or player signings
until the lockout is lifted.
