Toronto signed first round draft pick (#9) Tracy McGrady to a 3 year, $4.7
million contract.

Atlanta re-signed Eldridge Recasner.

Patrick Ewing (NY) was elected president of the NBA Players Association.
Ewing will serve a 4 year term.  The other members of the Players
Association's executive committee are first vice president Charles Smith 
(SA), vice president Tyrone Corbin (Atl), vice president Juwan Howard
(Was), vice president Dikembe Mutombo (Atl), vice president Mitch Richmond
(Sac), vice president Mark West (Ind), vice president Herb Williams (NY),
and secretary/treasurer Jim McIlvaine (Sea).
