The NBA announced that teams can carry up to 14 active players until
February 19, at which point the rosters must be reduced to 12 active
players.  The rosters must be reduced to 14 active players by 5 pm Central
time on February 4.  The regular season starts February 5.

Buck Williams (NY) announced his retirement from the NBA.

An MRI revealed that Kerry Kittles (NJ) has a torn meniscus in his right
knee and could be out a month.

Dallas signed Cedric Ceballos to a 1 year, $725,000 contract.

Boston signed Eric Riley.

Chicago signed Priest Lauderdale and released Bubba Wells and Curtis
Staples.

Cleveland released Shawn Harlan.

Detroit released Anthony Carter.

Orlando released Robert Conlisk.

Sacramento signed Kevin Ollie.

Seattle released Reggie Geary.

Vancouver signed Shareef Abdur-Rahim to a 6 year, $70.8 million contract 
extension.

Washington re-signed Ben Wallace to a 2 year, $1.9 million contract.
