The NBA named Tim Duncan (SA) as Player of the Week.  Duncan averaged 24.3
points, 14.8 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks as San Antonio went 4-0.

Karl Malone (Uta) scored 27 points in the Uta-GS game to increase his 
career points total to 29,299, which moved him ahead of Michael Jordan 
(29,277).  Only Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387)
have more career points.

Houston placed Hakeem Olajuwon on IR with a groin strain.  Olajuwon will
be out 3 to 4 weeks due to the injury.

Golden State activated Jason Caffey and placed Tim Young on IR with
plantar fascitis in his right foot.
