The NBA named Shaquille O'Neal (LAL) as Player of the Month for February.
O'Neal averaged 28.1 points. 12.8 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks as the Lakers
went 12-1.

The NBA named Elton Brand (Chi) as Rookie of the Month.  Brand averaged
20.5 points and 8.6 rebounds in February.

The NBA named Phil Jackson (LAL) as Coach of the Month.  The Lakers went
12-1 in February.

Philadelphia placed Tyrone Hill on IR with a strained right Achilles
tendon.

New York signed Etdrick Bohannon to a 2nd 10-day contract.
