Longer Excursions

The hiking and backpacking in the Cascades is superb. Mt. Si is the classic big mountain hike close to Seattle, and it's quite bus accesible. Another great day trip is Wallace Falls State Park. Overnight camping and cabin accommodations are available there, too. The world-famous mountains and old growth forests on the Olympic Peninsula are also bus-accessible with some effort.
