About the PSYWE

The Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble has grown from a small idea tossed around between colleagues to a program reaching young talented musicians throughout the Puget Sound Region.

Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble (PSYWE) is celebrating it's eighth year. The organization is dedicated to advancing the talents of young wind ensemble musicians striving to expand their musical skills. PSYWE provides high expectations for the participants with demanding literature. The rehearsal skills required will, in turn, support the bands of the public and private schools they attend.

The Board of Directors volunteer outside of their full time jobs to help make this organization possible for these remarkable students. Many generous parents and community members have donated their time and resources. Daily they are making a difference in the success of the Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble. Our conductors, Mr. Gerard Morris, Director of Bands, University of Puget Sound, and Mr. Robert Rink, Director of Bands, Ferruci Jr. High, Puyallup, hold to the highest standard of musicality, and will give the wonderful gift of education by sharing their musical knowledge with these students on a weekly basis.

We hope as you explore our web site you will see what a unique and truly worthwhile experience the PSYWE offers to students throughout the Puget Sound region. Please join us at our next concert, or better yet, encourage a young musician to audition for PSYWE!

Music shared is a gift of the soul.
