3 May 1998: Laramie, Wyoming
On this night I may have missed the best part of the display
because I waited until the Moon went down. The Boulder K-index
was in the 5-7 range most of the night. I give times in
UT minus 7.

- 2:56 - getting a bit brighter
- 3:01 - still glow, rays weak on non-existent
- 3:04 - rays again, one to 20 degrees
- 3:12 - satellite -4 then faded in 5 seconds, b/w Altair and Sagittarius,
Iridium flare?
- 3:15 - #1 60 sec, good pencil beam bearing 350
- 3:17 - faint glow up to 25 degrees still few clouds
- 3:18 - #2 120 sec
- 3:28 - several diffuse features, #3 60 sec
- 3:32 - fading
- 3:35 - #4 60 sec, more active
- 3:38 - pencil beam 15 degrees, bearing 005
- 3:39 - #5 60 sec
- 3:41 - #6 60+ sec
