Brian Rachford's mountaineering page
I have more or less reconstructed my mountaineering pages from
some pages at my old site, but also want to upgrade and
reorganize many things. Note that many features and links don't
work at the moment, but stay tuned because I am in the process
of some significant improvements.
Original contributions
- A brief introduction
This gives a sense of the sort of mountaining activities that
interest me and why.
- Chronological index to my trip reports
More than 100 of my own trip reports; mostly for high peaks in
Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona.
- Mountain gallery
A picture gallery from hikes and climbs. The text on these
pages is more or less unedited from my old site, so some some of
the things I say may no longer apply.
- Arizona and Minnesota peak lists
Some Arizona National Forest peak lists (updated May 16th, 2008) and a mini-guide to climbing the highest peaks in Minnesota.
- Essays
These range from annoying opinion pieces to solid how-to information.
- Bragging and Goals
Statistics on my hikes and some of my goals.
Other people's stuff
- Colorado peak lists
Comprehensive lists of peaks based on height and/or range, as well as
lists for other states. From
Gerry Roach's web site.
- Lists of John
Even more comprehensive lists of peaks, including putative lists of
all peaks of any elevation down to the 300-foot saddle rise level for
most of the western states.
- Colorado Rocky Mountain Trip Reports
Steve Parker's excellent alphabetical compilation of links to trip
reports from Colorado and Wyoming. Also, he
houses some trip reports locally that you won't find elsewhere.
