Brian Rachford's astronomical sketches

I'm not particularly artistic, and most of my sketching while looking through a telescope is geared toward being able to identify or confirm objects I've seen when I get home. These tend to be very schematic "stick figure" sorts of sketches. Plus, most of my observing is under very poor seeing conditions where there isn't a whole lot of detail on planets, and those may be the best targets for novice sketchers like me with small telescopes. It remains to be seen how often I add sketches to this page.

Right now, the only sketch is one of Mars done just two days after its close approach in August 2003, but I think it came out pretty well for a first serious attempt.
