Year 1910 registered the highest number of strikes & disturbances. The reaction of the power was not let hope.
O Grupo Anarquista José Oiticica, formado por novos militantes libertários, realizaram, no Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, nos dias 9, 16, 23 e 30 de julho de 1987, [DONE FOR SHORT INSERT FOR JULY 9, LONGER FOR JULY 30 ONLY Need to CLEAN UP TRANSLATION, consider REDOING/MOVING to 9th, & or spreading out to other dates AS appropriate] um curso de anarquismo envolvendo Problemas Atuais do Socialismo; Anarquismo Hoje e Movimentos Alternativos; Movimento Sindical e Anarco-Sindicalismo; e O Estado Hoje. 1987 -- Brazil: A group of studious professors of the anarquismo promoted course in the ABI (Brazilian Association of the Press). The Anarchic Group Jose Oiticica, formed for new militant libertarians, had carried through, in the Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro, in days 9, 16, 23 and 30 of July of 1987, a anarquismo course involving Current Problems of the Socialism; Alternative Anarquismo Today and Movements; Syndical movement and Anarco-Unionism; e the State Today.

The Marche
In the Marche anarchists served in several partisan formations in Ancona, Fermo, Sassoferato and Macera (where Alfonso Pettinari, ex-internee and political commissar of a ‘Garibaldi’ brigade, met his death).
Apua
NEED TO WORK THIS MATERIAL OUT RE DOGALI BARRACKS In Apua, the libertarian contribution to the resistance was consistent as well as crucial. The anarchist partisan formations active in the Carrara area went by the names ‘G. Lucetti’ (60-80 persons), ‘Lucetti bis’ (58 strong – these two groups named after the anarchist Gino Lucetti i), ‘M. Schirru’ (454 strong – named after another anarchist and would-be assassin of 'Il Duce', Michael Schirru), ‘Garibaldi Lunense’ and ‘Elio’ (30 strong). After 8 SEPTEMBER (1943), anarchists (including Romualdo Del Papa, Galeotti and Pelliccia) led the attack on the Dogali barracks, seizing the weaponry and urging the Alpine troops to desert and join the partisan campaign. When, to the next day of the 8 september 1943 they knew that the Germans were disarming the Italian soldiers in the barracks Dogali di Carrara, many anarchists (between which Of the Pope, Galeotti, Fur, etc) they oed on the place and they succeeded to impossessarsi of many crews, forming squares of partisans. http://libcom.org/history/articles/italian-resistance-anarchist-partisans-1943/index.php

The textile mill workers there eagerly flock to the union, but when the mil owners refuse to recognize the union, a strike breaks out in June of this year.Prominant on the union picket lines is Ella May Wiggins, a 29-year-old mother of nine children who had been working the night shift at one of the mills. When some of her children come down with whooping cough, Ella May asks the mill foreman to put her on the day shift so she can care for her sick babies. The foreman refuses & Ella May is forced to quit her job.

Oh, Dave!
I would go along with Tom Waits...Way too late! Dr. Egon Muniz won the Nobel Prize (Medicine) in 1936 for this wonderful discovery. You could look it up.
I have a paper I edited lying around somewhere documenting the particularly sexist & racist application of this procedure in the US — through the decades, the operation was performed on twice as many women as men, even though the "diagnosis" for which it was supposed to be the cure "evolved" from obsessive-compulsive, through schiz & manic-depressive.— Bleedster Ruhama V.
Sorry! It should have read: First political prefrontal lobotomy performed, which if you consider US history from that point on ... really expains a lot.

In the summer of 2003 all of these sites were removed (temporarily for the summer or permanantly?)
