Transit Postmark Collector Vol. 54, No. 4 (May-June 2003) ... is in the mail! In his street car R.P.O. column, David Gentry shows covers with interesting foreign destinatins. One is a St. Louis Grand Ave. R.P.O. addressed to Monaco and the other is a Chicago & Wentworth Ave. R.P.O. addressed to the Philippines. In Rural Free Delivery, Guy Purington shows eight RFD covers with unusual frankings. These vary from commemorative stamps, a mixed issue franking, and out of date definitives, to successful use of revenue stamps. There is also an article by Douglas N. Clark on "name of boat postcards." This refers to post cards postmarked on RPO mail boats and identifying the boat by name in the message. The article deals particularly with the New Bedford & Nantucket RPO. There is society news, a mail sale and more...
