Abby
We think Abby is about nine years old, but we can't be sure. In February 2003, some people saw a car parked by a neighbor's driveway and they went to check. The people in the car dropped Abby out the window and took off. A very kind person cleaned her up, took care of her, and contacted rescue.
Abby was x-rayed to find the source of her stiffness, and we found she is afflicted with spondylosis, a type of osteoarthritis of the spine. She is on a program of glucosamine and vitamins, and recently we added daily Rimadyl. She is getting around much better now. We'll gradually reduce the dose of Rimadyl until we find the minimum needed to keep her relatively pain-free.
Abby is a remarkable girl, always smiling, with a friendly wag whenever one of her humans is close.
How can we describe Abby? These pictures speak for themselves. She is every bit as sweet and cheerful as she looks, and we're happy to announce she is now in her forever home -- with us!
