Seeds of Hope

Knowledge Arts looks for seeds of hope - for projects that encourage and support a sense of optimism for sustained and diverse life on this planet.

These seeds come from many places and in many forms.

The Earth holds an infinite profusion of seeds. Seeds contain forms and worlds yet to germinate; the roots, leaves, and flowers of the entire plant are invisibly enclosed in the seed. Paradoxically, the unborn potential of future life is fused, within a seed, to primordial patterns that are laid down in the very beginning. The seed's capacity to engender new life seems to derive from the imprint of patterns carried throughout the ages. ... Like seeds, myths, ideas and images are dispersed throughout the world on the winds of thought, the waters of emotions and the fires of passion.

We pay attention. We work to find these seeds of hope.

And then we bring our talents and those of our clients and colleagues together to develop the nourishing ground upon which these seeds can grow.

Rather like landscape architects creating the conditions for a garden to flourish, knowledge architects design the conceptual and technological ground upon which ideas, enterprises and projects can learn how to build their own healthy niches and grow into self-sustaining living systems.

The most robust seeds of hope we find these days reside in the enthusiasm of children and young people — in their capacity to wonder and their willingness to grow a new way of being in the world. Our current projects focus on nurturing these precious opportunities for the survival of the planet.
