Canton is a somewhat small restaurant in downtown CDA that seems to cater to the lunch crowd,
providing quite a few menu items. I think in a town full of expensive restaurants that cater to tourists,
the locals need somewhere they can go frequently that won't break the bank. At least, that is the
impression I got about Canton Restaurant.
There's nothing fancy here, just good food. I say it is good, even though I found neither the type of authentic Cantonese dishes served in Seattle's International District nor the type of spicy Hunan or Sichuan style food I was primarily eating at the time. To be fair, though, I did not ask if they had anything more authentic than the standard Americanized lunch specials. I did enjoy the food, but I do not remember what I ordered. It was the standard food found in most Chinese restaurants. The highlight for me was the Egg Drop Soup served with lunch. I did not like the oolong house tea, but I cannot complain too much when it is free. |
