I've been going to this restaurant since the 1970's, and it's been consistently one of the better Tex-Mex restaurants in Austin. I know there are fancier places, but go to El Gallo for traditional Tex-Mex. |

Try the chile con queso. Has the greasiest (and best) Tex-Mex tacos I've eaten (back in the days when I used to eat such things). Combination plates also come with dessert (sherbert or praline). I think this is the best Tex-Mex place north of San Antonio. |
