Thai Tara is a relatively new restaurant in downtown Austin, an area that is far from saturated with Thai
restaurants. Fortunately, Thai Tara is pretty good, offering a large variety of dishes in an upscale setting.
Although it seems to have made some accommodations to the American palate, it does offer some relatively spicy dishes. The people in my party ordered enough variety to demonstrate that just about anyone's cravings can be satisfied. The lunch menu seems to offer just about the full range of dishes, unlike many Thai restaurants that seem to only offer the most "Americanized" dishes. Although the Ginger Tofu I ordered was not the best I ever had, this is not the only criterion of a Thai restaurant, and the other food looked worthy of experimentation on subsequent visits. |
