When I finally tried the food at Koong Thong, though, it blew me away with the flavor and variety of dishes. After trying several items, the curry seemed the best. I experimented with red, green, and yellow--I don't remember which one was best, but I know all were good. In fact I have heard from different parts of south King County that they also thought Koong Thong was excellent.

The problem is, though, that people used to think it was good. I for one think it has slipped some in recent years. That is not to say it is bad, only that it is no longer one of my top recommendations in the Seattle area. In the early days I would have easily given it a score in the 20's (my highest rating). The curries I ate on my initial visits to Koong Thong still set a standard by which I judge other restaurants. I will say, though, that I had quite a few good experiences versus one mediocre one recently, so I am not really sure how the food stacks up currently.

The lunch buffet at Koong Thong is a good deal (actually it is not an all-you-can-eat buffet, but rather that you pick out the items you want). Dinner has pretty reasonable prices also.

I tried to go one other time but it was closed for lunch on a Saturday when I was there. As far as I know, though, this is the only time it is closed.
