What is Babylon Who?
Babylon Who is a little side project I started work on a long time ago
and hope to get finished up in the next few months. It's a script for a
theoretical two-hour telefilm set between "The Quality of Mercy" and
"Chrysalis" in the first season of Bablyon 5 and sometime
before Kate Orman's "Set Piece" in the Doctor Who: The New
Adventures line. Some of the ideas were generated by folks on
rec.arts.drwho and the B5 newsgroups when the topic of a B5/Dr. Who
crossover came up a year or two back. I actually wrote the
before-the-opening-credits "teaser" in 1995 and will upload it here
soon. I still need to write the rest of the story, though I have
quite a romp in mind.
A disclaimer
Just as a general disclaimer, I should note that Babylon Who
is intended as a not-for-any-money-whatsoever piece of fan fiction.
I would ask you to obtain my permission before distribution in any
form and that no one forward a copy to B5 creator J. Michael Straczynski.
I would like to ultimately hand him a copy, some time after B5 is well
and truly finished, in order to avoid putting him into any legal bind
over ideas.
More on the script
A couple of things to look forward to in the completed script:
- The Doctor and Kosh converse in fluent Vorlon.
- A nasty confrontation between The Doctor and Delenn, who have
apparently had some past dealings.
- See the Haiku above.
- The Doctor confronts Mr. Morden.
- Garibaldi and Ace may travel to Mars together. (This subplot
may end up remaining on the station. I'm undecided.)
- A familiar group of Doctor Who "monsters"...on Babylon 5.
(Hint: No Daleks or Cybermen here!)
