GARIBALDI
Petrov, what's up?
PETROV
Something's going down, Garibaldi.
GARIBALDI
(A beat) Such as...?
PETROV
I don't know, but there've been some guys hanging around
Downbelow, real suspicious bunch, asking a lot of questions about
loyalty, politics...
GARIBALDI
HomeGuard?
PETROV
That's what I thought at first, but they don't smell like Earth
Firsters, if you know what I mean.
GARIBALDI
Well, no, actually, I don't...
PETROV
Look, I thought I'd take the job, see what I can find out from the
inside. If nothing happens, at least I make a few credits on the deal.
(A beat)
Only problem is, it'll mean being out of contact for a while. You
got a problem with that?
GARIBALDI
Well, it wouldn't be my first choice, but if it's the only way you can
find out what's going on...
PETROV
Hey, don't sweat it, Garibaldi.
(A beat)
Look, you don't hear from me in a week, then send some of your
guys down, okay? Whatever it is they're planning, it ain't
happening until after Christmas.
GARIBALDI
All right.
PETROV
(from next room)
Trust me, man. Have I ever let you down before?
EXT. EARTH FREIGHTER AGGEDOR IN HYPERSPACE
Establishing shot, zooming in on a rather beat-up, but very large and
bulky, freight vessel moving through the Lovecraftian vortex of hyperspace.
INT. AGGEDOR
The PILOT and CO-PILOT of the freighter look upon hyperspace tiredly from
their consoles as the pilot contacts their destination.
IVANOVA (vo)
Affirmative, Aggedor. This is Babylon 5, Lieutenant Commander
Ivanova speaking. Your flight plan doesn't indicate a stop here.
Please state the nature of your docking request.
PILOT
Roger, B5. We are ferrying humanitarian relief supplies to Mars
Colony. Our primary navigational systems have been on the blink
the whole trip and we'd like to put in at B5 for repairs before
proceeding to Jump Point Io, over.
IVANOVA (vo)
Understood, Aggedor. Be advised that all ships en route to Mars
Colony are subject to a search for smuggled weapons before
departure, by order of the President.
(Jokingly)
I take it you are not gun runners?
IVANOVA (vo)
Good. Then we shouldn't have any problems. Enter jump gate 23
minutes from my mark. We will direct you into a holding pattern at
that time.
(A beat)
Mark. Have a nice day.
PILOT
Does it matter? Once we deliver the merchandise to Deveraux,
we'll be home free. I just hope...
FRANKE CRESCENDO CUT TO:
INT. BABYLON 5 PASSENGER DOCKING BAY
Inside the passenger ship docking bay, several ships are docked. One in
the near distance is still disembarking and we see several passengers
(human and otherwise) walk from that direction and straight towards and
past us. After they have passed, a wheezing, groaning sound (BBC
Radiophonic Workshop stock sound effect) signals the arrival of a blue
police public call box in the middle of this promenade.
We begin a close up on the police box as the door opens, then we
FADE OUT.
