This used book is in very good condition with a colorful dust jacket.

This is a fascinating book about the life of Captain James Cook from his birth in 1728 to his death in 1779. Most of the book describes in considerable detail his famous three voyages of descovery beginning with the departure for the first voyage on August 25, 1768, and ending on August 22, 1780 when two ships returned to England from the third voyage, but without Captain Cook, who was killed February 14, 1779 on a beach Kealakekua Bay, Hawai‘i.

The writing is excellent, and you are probably already aware of the outstanding and beautiful National Geographic photography. Numerous drawings and maps add to the educational value of this book.
