Homework #2: Animation & a Control Panel

Your spec: Your movie should consist of three parts. Part 1 should be an opening title; use animated text & introduce your movie. Part 2 is any animation you want to create! Use pictures, text, anything you like. Tell a short story! Part 3 should be closing credits; again animate these as you see fit.

If the movie is rewound and played, the three sections should run, one after the other, in an endless loop. Section number one should follow section number three. But - you must also supply some VCR-type controls which are present at all times. This control panel should contain one button for each of the following functions:

• one button to jump ahead to the beginning of the next section
• one button to skip back to the beginning of the previous section
• one button to rewind the movie to the beginning
• one button to pause the movie
• one button to play the movie

Sounds - Please add the following to your movie:

• At least one (1) sound effect somewhere in your movie.
• At least one (1) piece of music, to play under the opening titles and/or the closing credits.

You can find some sounds in Big Mac:Graphics Courses:Director:Lessons:Samples:Sounsd, or on the 'net. (NOTE: Sound can quickly bloat the size of your movie file! Please don't submit any file larger than 1MB!)

NOTE: No Flash permitted in this assignment!

Bonus: 2 points if you can combine the Pause and Play buttons into a single button that pauses and unpauses your movie! To accomplish this, you'll need to familiarize yourself with two lingo terms: the pauseState and if ... then statements. Look at Director's help files, or search the web (if I find a good link, I'll post it here).
