Ferrets (Mustela Furo)

Ferrets are members of the mustelid family, related to otters, minks, and distantly, badgers. They have been domesticated for much of western history, there is even evidence of Ferrets being kept by the ancient greeks as pest control animals.
They make excellent pets, especially if you live in a small or cramped space. (we live in a boat for example, which is a lot smaller than most apartments, heck, it's smaller than many apartment kitchens :)

Not many people are aware of the rich nautical tradition enjoyed by ferrets. Here we see scenes of the pirate vessel "Distracted by bright shiny things" with several of her ferrets at the wheel.

Of course, Ferrets appear in mythology, in fact, many of humankind's most cherished fables have ferrets in them.
