Wanted to update folks, the new CPU arrived, I installed it and the machine would not even post. Have not had time to troubleshoot further. However, I have another machine that I recently build that is essentially the same architecture, 10-core rather than 18-cores, but the 18 core machine was only running at less than 4% CPU occupancy so this should be fine. Over the next few days I'm going to move these services over to that machine since the existing machine seems to be determined to give me no end in grief.

If there is a plus side to any of this, I had to reboot the mail server numerous times during the trouble shooting process, and after doing this I checked all the servers for proper NFS mounting of the mail partitions and every single one of them mounted correctly. So it appears one thing that finally got resolved in 5.13.4 is NFS mount handling. This has been a bug that has plagued his since the beginnings of Linux and it appears finally put to rest. This will make kernel upgrades less problematic in the future.

For what it's worth, I've been able to determine that it is partially a kernel problem, partially something else. If I use an older kernel, uid mapping works but gid mapping is still broken.
