font-size: 20pt; color: #ff0000;\">Eggable Shells<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Our <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/shell-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">standard<\/a>, <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/shell-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">standard<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/shell-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">enterprise shells<\/a>, as well as shells provided as part of a <a href=\"\/services\/internet-hosting\/personal-hosting-packages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">medium or large web hosting package<\/a> are Eggable, which is to say that you can run Eggdrop or other non-abusive bots.\u00a0 By non-abusive we mean bots that are not intended to intentionally flood, takeover, or otherwise disrupt IRC channels, users, or servers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These can be run on any of our <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/servers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Linux based shell servers<\/a> (but not our old SunOS box, it is just too resource tight to support user daemons of any sort, it&#8217;s mainly there for nostalgia reasons).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We have a number of bots and IRC bouncers pre-installed on our <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/servers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shell servers<\/a> and available for your use.\u00a0 For those who prefer to roll your own, we have a very complete suite of Linux development tools available online and available for your use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Many shell providers come and go.\u00a0 Eskimo North has been around under original ownership since the formation of the CIX in Stockton in 1992 and prior to that we operated a Unix Timeshare service from 1985 so we have more than 36 years of experience providing shells (prior to 1992 they were shells on an isolated SunOS network).\u00a0 In 2012 we upgraded our host hardware from older UltraSparc servers to i7-6700K based systems.\u00a0 In August of 2015, we upgraded our router to provide lower latency and improved performance.\u00a0 We also added an i7-6850K server.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We are <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/shell-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not the lowest price shell provider<\/a> out there, but if you want one that has a solid backbone connection, <a href=\"\/services\/shells\/servers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">solid servers<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/information\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">staying power<\/a>, as opposed to someone running an old PC on a cable modem that will be gone in a couple of months, we&#8217;re the provider for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you would like a custom hostname under our domain with a dedicated IP address for that hostname on a particular shell server, we would be happy to accommodate this at no additional expense.\u00a0 If you would like your own domain name, then you will need either a <a href=\"\/services\/internet-hosting\/business-hosting-packages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">business<\/a> or <a href=\"\/services\/internet-hosting\/personal-hosting-packages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">personal medium or large web hosting package<\/a> or a <a href=\"\/services\/internet-hosting\/virtual-domains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">virtual domain<\/a> plus standard or larger shell.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some of the IRC bots we provide pre-installed include:<\/p>\n<dl style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 While you can still use bnc, sbnc, or znc bouncers as a way to obscure your IP address from potential abuse, an alternative is to connect to our shells using <a href=\"\/support\/remote-desktop\/x2go\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">x2go<\/a> and then run an IRC client on our shells.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;
