Cycles
for Synclavier
[4:30]

This work was realized via my generating program Markov, described within the Algorithms page (quod vide).  Integer-summation modular residue cycles through Markov order 6 supplied pitch-class and register assignments for 7 voices, each of from 24 to 728 members, with each pitch's duration set to the reciprocol of its collective length per voice.

An assortment of 7 timbres and intuitive settings for articulation and volume yielded 3 short movements:

1. Voices enter sequentially in descending-speed order, overlapping at 2nd-order delay intervals, and exit similarly -- a laminated ritenuto.

2. Voices enter together at drastically slowed speed, with their texture refracted as the octave ratio gradually telescopes to zero -- a pitchwise black hole.

3. Beginning in the bass with an overall loop and at drastically greater speed, a jittery transposition function catapults everything away -- a poof!

Access: The only score was Synclavier code; its audio is lost,
with that for Noitnevni Trap-2, a companion work for Csound.
