Rhododendron Bench #10 Construction Details

The trickiest part in making rhododendron furniture is attaching the legs to the seat. The branches are both wiggly and heavy, and all four must be in place with braces before the piece is stable enough for further work.

In most of the other rhododendron benches, I attached temporary legs to the seat structure, but the sometimes got in the way when I tried to attach the rhododendron legs. A rectangular inclined plane solved the problem and is much faster. A moveable crosspiece on the top allows for precise height control.
