I also use the Johnson&Johnson Sof-Wick drain sponges. I have found that they
are very comfortable and that the split part of the sponge is long enough to
be tucked foward under the plastic of my trach collar. This decreases the
visible size and makes it less noticeable .... and it still is able to

You can also trim the sponges to fit so not as much hangs over :)
