Do you use your Inexsufflator with a trach or are you ventilated
noninvasively. I see you live in N.J. (I suppose that means New Jersey) so
youīll have Dr. Bach near home. He is an enthusiastic defender of the
Inexsufflator and he sustains that by means of that device and other
methods like manual assisted cough, glossopharingeal breathing and more
itīs possible to mantein full ventilatory support in a 24 hours basis
noninvasively. Another thing he recommends is to provide patients an
oximeter for home use because itīs very useful to detect decreases in the
SaO2 value in case of respiratory infection and guide home therapy. Then my
question not only for you but for other people in the list is: Who has an
oximeter at home?
Iīve been following the debate over Andreaīs case. Itīs really impressive
and as others I can understand her anger and desperation but I would like
her to mantein contact with this list. She seems to be a brave woman. Iīm
sure she has fighten a lot and her intention (because love is the strongest
force) is to continue fighting. So please, Andrea, donīt leave the list.
You have things to give, you can help and helping others will help you. You
have introduced Mandy to us and I think everybody here wants to know about
her, about her progression, her problems (and your problems) and the way
you get solutions. Stay with us, both of you, Andrea.
