Mr. Rhodehamel grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. While in high school, he taught at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. His subjects included geology, Indian lore, herpetology, and Indiana arborology & history. He presented the Museum`s science demonstrations.

Mr. Rhodehamel received his Masters of Astrophysics from Boston University. During his studies, he lectured the Astronomy 101 class and was responsible for the Astronomy labs. He has conducted research at numerous observatories across the country including Mount Laguna Observatory outside San Diego, California where he was employed by the National Forest Service conducting telescope demonstrations and star parties for visitors to the Park.

After receiving his masters, he joined a string of start-up firms in Massachusetts. As a senior software engineer, he specialized in designing, developing, and testing satellite based navigation systems. Mr. R attended national navigation seminars where he presented his work to the engineering community.

In San Francisco, he gave weekly science demonstration to elementary school children at St. James Episcopal Church for their after school program. Since moving to Petaluma, Mr. R has become active in disseminating his love for the sciences to youth. He became a volunteer with Marin County School Volunteers (undergoing an FBI background check) and tutored for the Novato High School`s Advancement for Individual Determination (AVID) program. He also is interested in amateur astronomy. He has given neighborhood star parties using a 10" Dobsonian telescope he built himself, and is always looking for opportunities to stay up late looking at the stars.
