In fact, let me get the original if I can and I'll forward it to you... cool enough? -B Wirkkala, Matthew From: Wirkkala, Matthew Sent: Monday, August 03, 1998 12:43 PM To: 'Bob Kelly (DL)' Cc: 'C. Michel Boucher (DL)'; 'Matt Wirkkala at Eskimo' Subject: Your info... Bob, You sent a reply to me a little while back (listed below) which mentioned something VERY interesting! Infact, I have indirectly eluded to it in a few correspondences with other players since that time. This being, your correspondence with an MPS marketing VP regarding the staus of DL. This could very likely qualify as the most recent direct response from anyone at Microprose to inquiries on this subject! (Atleast, that I am aware.) I would like to ask you if you could do one of two things for me? Either allow me to include that paragraph from your response to me below on either my Darklands web-site, or allow Michel Boucher to use it in some way, including as an update in the DL_FAQ. Better yet, if you still have it, perhaps use your original correspondence with them(?)! You'd get all the credit, of coarse -- this is policy -- unless you would prefer anonymity. I've Cc'ed this to Michel (first time, I believe), as he authored the most recent letter from the FAQ authors to MPS and maintains the current version of the FAQ -- and otherwise seems to be a pretty cool guy! Thank you for the pointers, you hit my computer level fine with DOS -- I've been doing UNIX and Mac for 10 years and now that I am developing for the WindowsPC, I find myself years behind in computer ju-ju to makes things work. Anyways, I also sent a request about Darklands to Microprose and the response was they haven't completely removed Darklands from their production -- in fact, the Marketing VP told me that they wouldn't license Darklands because they haven't completely removed the possibility of redevelopment. Just thought you'd like to know.... -B
