{"id":1920,"date":"2015-05-07T18:34:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-08T02:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eskimo.com\/~nanook\/nook\/?p=1920"},"modified":"2015-05-07T18:34:00","modified_gmt":"2015-05-08T02:34:00","slug":"our-daily-bread-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eskimo.com\/~nanook\/2015\/05\/07\/our-daily-bread-prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Daily Bread &#8211; Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: #000060;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When I was in prison, I did quite a lot of praying, most of it seemed to have gone unanswered at the time but looking back on it, God preserved my marriage, my house, and somehow kept what is left of my family fed.\u00a0 We used to call it the &#8220;Push method&#8221;, Pray Until Something Happens.\u00a0 Now outside, I often feel like the challenges I face are worse than prison, still I continue to pray and believe there will come a time when I can look back on these times and see that God took care of me in ways I can&#8217;t see.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"version-KJV result-text-style-normal text-html \">\n<h1 class=\"passage-display\"><span style=\"font-size: 20pt;\"><span class=\"passage-display-bcv\">Luke 18:1-8<\/span><span class=\"passage-display-version\">King James Version (KJV)<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"chapter-2\"><span id=\"en-KJV-25690\" class=\"text Luke-18-1\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><span class=\"chapternum\">18\u00a0<\/span>And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25691\" class=\"text Luke-18-2\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25692\" class=\"text Luke-18-3\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25693\" class=\"text Luke-18-4\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25694\" class=\"text Luke-18-5\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25695\" class=\"text Luke-18-6\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25696\" class=\"text Luke-18-7\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-25697\" class=\"text Luke-18-8\" style=\"color: #800000;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
