\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I am feeling totally overwhelmed emotionally right now and having to cope on my own as my wife just left for work, she’s a night stocker at QFC now, sucks for me but she seems to prefer those hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I just watched Across the Universe.\u00a0 I was introduced to this film in a humanities class while in prison that was part of a multi-media course.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When I got out I bought a copy but my Aiwa AV-DV75 receiver bit the dust so could only watch it with my antique televisions horrid sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Just before Christmas, I found an AV55, very similar except only 150 watts \/ channel instead of 170 watts, also no digital pads on the inputs but otherwise pretty identical, on E-bay for a whole of $25 and it arrived and actually works.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"IMG_1103\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So now I have sound again and tonight re-watched Across the Universe, and it’s a whole different experience.\u00a0 I feel like I’m immersed in the situation and what an emotional roller coaster that film is.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is the hospital scene after Max is injured in Viet Nam.\u00a0 My television is a 1999 model rear projection set with a fried convergence card, hence the Chronovision near either edges.\u00a0 And the interference pattern between the camera pixels and the TV pixels makes for an interesting effect.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"IMG_1112\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I never get nurses like that when I go to the doctors.\u00a0 I get some 75 year old who does her best to comfort me while hurting me.\u00a0 I’m sorry, as she slices and dices.\u00a0 I probably wouldn’t be as healthy if I had nurses like these.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Max gets an injection of something…<\/span><\/p>\n

\"IMG_1115\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Whatever it is, he obviously likes it…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"IMG_1116\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Anyway, after watching something like this I don’t want to be alone but I have no choice tonight.\u00a0 The movie is full of tragedy, failed relationships, people killed and mangled in war, but also some high points.\u00a0 Like I said, an emotional roller coaster.\u00a0 Now I just got off and am feeling a bit dizzy and queasy.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
